Submit Abstract

Abstract submission is now open!

We invite researchers, professionals, and enthusiasts to submit abstracts for oral or poster presentations to be featured at Funga Fest Israel 2025, taking place at Ben-Gurion University from December 7–10, 2025.

Topics of interest include (but are not limited to) – fungal ecology and biodiversity, medicinal and edible mushrooms, mycotoxins and fungal pathogens, agricultural and forest mycology, fungi in food tech and fermentation, industrial and environmental applications of fungi, fungal biotechnology, fungi in art, culture, and traditional knowledge, mycoremediation and fungi in climate resilience, symbiotic relationships (e.g., mycorrhiza, endophytes), citizen science and fungal mapping, and emerging fungi-related innovations and startups.

Submission Guidelines:

Abstracts may be submitted for oral or poster presentation (please indicate your preference).

Abstracts must be written in English, up to 300 words, and include: Title , Author(s) ,Affiliation(s) ,Contact email

You may submit more than one abstract for consideration.

Selection Process:

All abstracts will be reviewed by the scientific committee. Accepted abstracts will be notified via email and assigned to either an oral or poster session. Please note that space for oral presentations is limited, and preferences will be considered but not guaranteed.

Presenter Requirements:

At least one author must register for the event in order to present.

Accepted abstracts will be included in the official Abstract Book.

Instructions for Abstract Submission:

To submit your abstract for FUNGA Fest 2025, please follow the steps below carefully:

  •  Download the official abstract template using the link provided on this page.

    (Only submissions using this template will be accepted.)

  • Read the instructions included in the abstract template carefully.

    The guidelines cover formatting, structure, required content, units, and style. Submissions not aligned with the template will not be reviewed.

  •  Do not modify the layout or design of the template. Replace only the placeholder text with your own content.
  •  The abstract must not exceed one page (this includes both the abstract text and the short biography). Submissions longer than one page will not be accepted.
  •  Include a short biography (up to 150 words) in the designated section of the template.

  • Ensure your abstract represents original work and is written in English.

    Informative and critical abstracts are accepted.

  • Save your file as a Microsoft Word document (.doc or .docx) and upload it using the form below
 

– By submitting your abstract, you acknowledge and agree that, if accepted, your abstract will be published in the official Book of Abstracts and made publicly available on the FUNGA fest 2025 website. Submission constitutes your consent to this publication.

– The Scientific Committee reserves the right to make minor language and format edits and proofreading adjustments to submitted abstracts to ensure clarity and consistency in the abstract book and related publications.

Poster Presentation Guidelines

Thank you for your participation in FUNGA fest 2025! If your abstract was accepted for poster presentation, please follow the guidelines below to ensure a smooth and professional display during the conference.

Poster Dimensions:

  • Ideal size: A0 (84.1 cm x 118.9 cm / 33.1 in x 46.8 in) – portrait orientation only
  • Posters must be printed and brought physically by the presenter.


Poster Format:

  • Title should be identical to the one submitted in your abstract.

    Include:

      • Authors' full names and affiliations
      • Introduction, Methods, Results, Conclusions
      • Acknowledgments and references (if relevant)
  • Use clear visuals, graphs, and bullet points to enhance clarity.
  • Text should be readable from 1–2 meters away (We recommend a minimum font size of ~24 pt for body text).


Poster Display:

  • Posters will be displayed during the poster sessions in the main exhibition area. 
  • Presenters are expected to be available near their poster during designated poster sessions to answer questions and engage with attendees.
  • Mounting materials (e.g., pins or adhesive) will be provided at the venue.
  • Each presenter will receive a poster number and assigned board upon arrival.
